Raspberry Picking~

I took the girls raspberry picking at Linvilla Orchards yesterday.

Linvilla is just a few miles away from our house...we love it there and always enjoy visiting the orchard.  We've picked strawberries, blueberries, apples, peaches, pears...but we had never been to pick raspberries before.  It was nice and relaxing...and the weather was perfect...low 70's and low humidity.  

Raspberry picking is fun!

We filled two quarts with the pretty little ruby berries.  Thankfully, Linvilla, doesn't weigh the pickers before and after to see how many you've consumed...I may have enjoyed some samples while picking...you know, just to make sure they were nice and sweet and juicy :)

Then it was off to the playground...where we stumbled upon some friends of ours from church.  It was so nice...the kids had friends to play with and I enjoyed wonderful adult conversation.  It was a great way to spend part of our day:)

Now, what to do with so many raspberries?  I froze some of them...and made this yummy dessert...cake cup filled with chocolate pudding, topped with whipped cream, chocolate chips, and lots of fresh-picked raspberries.  A nice ending to a nice day, don't you think?
